Sweet little story.
So I was walking home down on Cermak from church. Apparently I wasn't spared the rude honkings or dog whistles or blank stares at 9 in the morning on a Sunday.
Anyway back to the story.
A guy riding his bike, obviously not my age, comes up to me when I was gonna cross Austin and says to me, *In Spanish* "With all due respect and I hope I don't offend you but you are a very beautiful young lady. I say this with all respect and from the bottom of my heart. I know some young women get offended by comments like that coming from people like me. I don't say it to be obscene or in any flirting manner. I just say it to compliment. God Bless you and Have a nice day." He rode away.
For those who know me, I'm not one to care about appearance but I also have trouble taking pride in it. That was kind of the man and I thanked him.
I may not believe what he said if I thought that of myself, but I honored the fact that her respectfully told me what was on his mind, instead of calling me out like a dog.
That made my morning, I don't know what was so special about me but I thank the kindness of that man.
Cause in general that is what this town's people lack. Kindness an courtesy.
